The Botswana Company was established in 1992 and has undergone several name changes in the previous years. HNR Computers, Siltek Distribution Dynamics and Channel Tec were the previous names. These name changes represented the evolving nature of the computer industry and the market in which it operates through joint ventures with key industry leaders of its time.
The associate company it4africa SA was created out of the coming together of various Distributors from different countries in Africa. Each of these distributors has extensive experience in their respective markets and all of them have experience in the distribution of Information Technology products.
It4africa provides supply chain and distribution services for a selected range of quality products, and currently focus’s on the APC, Epson, Fujitsu-Siemens, Hewlett-Packard, Imation, & Microsoft brands.
The Company benefits from an experienced team of Senior Managers, who between them bring over 70 years of experience in the IT industry. In addition, it4africa has selectively recruited a highly focused team of support personnel in each of the market segments in which it operates.
It4africa's strategy represents the optimum fusion of the traditional distribution model with the benefits that the Internet makes available. To this extent, much of the company’s product pricing are available on the web to its dealers, so as to give all customers, irrespective of which market segments they operate in, equal access to information about the products and sales processes.
The Botswana Company has its Management, administrative and sales call centre based in The Gaborone International Commerce Park, Gaborone. It4africa SA’s overseas operation is supported by headquarters in Johannesburg, Warehouses and facilities operating out of Johannesburg, Namibia, Nairobi, Dubai & Amsterdam International Airports.
It4africa's drive to focus on selected tier one brands will position it as a unique supplier of products on the continent. This position allows it4africa to install a presence in some of the newer markets within a very short time.

“Pinnacle Africa, part of the JSE Securities Exchange listed Pinnacle Technology Holdings Ltd (PTH) group, is one of the chosen suppliers to IPartnership, an initiative aiming to provide easier IT access to 'under-served' population groups, including unemployed youth, unemployed IT graduates and civil servants, in Botswana. With a branch office in Botswana, Pinnacle Africa represents PTH subsidiaries, Pinnacle Micro and Workgroup Systems.
